| Welcome
to Dúinín
House..........
(which in Gaelic means "little fort")....
situated just 1 km. from the centre of Dingle town on the Conor Pass Road,
which leads North to Tralee over the Conor Pass - one of Dingle's most
renowned beauty-spots.
On arrival, guests are invited to relax in the conservatory with a complimentary
cup of tea or coffee and home-baked cake. They can enjoy the splendid
views from the conservatory or leaf through the many books on display
there which will add to their knowledge and understanding of Dingle, its
history and unique Gaelic heritage. Your host is a fluent Gaelic speaker
and has extensive knowledge of the area and teaches traditional music
to local children.
Breakfasts, chosen from our extensive breakfast menu, are served in the
Dining Room / conservatory which has a magnificent view of Dingle Town
and Harbour in the foreground with Mount Eagle, Burnham Hill and Maurhin
Peak in the background. On a clear day one of the Blasket Islands can
be seen on the distant horizon.
Dúinín
House is an ideal base for tours of the peninsula, whether walking, cycling,
by bus or by car. We are within easy access of the many attractions of
the Dingle peninsula - golfing, swimming, trips to the Blasket islands
and the Heritage centre in Dunquin, An Mara Beo (the undersea world),
boat trips to see Fungi the Dingle Dolphin and we can arrange tours of
the peninsula, including Archaeology Tours for our guests. We can advise
our guests about Dingle's many restaurants and bars and where to find
the best traditional music sessions.
