| Carrick
Beg House is a family run Guest House situated in Carrick-on-Suir
in the beautiful River Suir Valley, bordering South Tipperary and Waterford.
The
house is owned by Margaret and Michael Comerford and is set on extensive
gardens and is over 150 years old and retains many period features. All
of our bedrooms are individually decorated and furnished, with TVs, tea/coffee
making facilities and ensuite bathrooms.We
are only 300m from the centre of Carrick, which offers many forms of entertainment
from music and crack in its many pubs, fine dining, amateur operatics
and various heritage centres, such as the Old Bridge over the Suir dating
from 1447, the historic Ormonde Castle(1315), and the prehistoric Ahenny
High Crosses just a few miles away. Set
in the beautiful Slievenamon/Suir valley, Carrick is also a centre for
many outdoor activities, including walking, fishing, boating, golfing,
cycling and horse riding, and we can offer many suggestions for how best
to enjoy the area. The
Comeragh and Knockmealdown mountains and scenic Slievenamon are also just
a short drive away. Directions:
Carrick is situated on the N24 mid-way between Waterford and Clonmel,
with Kilkenny and Dungarvan also within a 30 minute drive. In Carrick,
travel towards the town centre, and over the New Bridge into Carrick-Beg,
and then take a right turn towards Dungarvan for 500m, before taking another
right turn onto Coolnamuc road at the junction of Walls Pub and Abbey
Stores. The house is 200m along on the LHS.
