About fifteen kilometres to the west of Killybegs stands Slieve League (grey mountain), at 1972 feet the highest coastal cliffs in Europe.
Killybegs's proximity to the sea has led to numerous activities such as sea and river fishing, sub-aqua diving, and the annual August Sea Angling Festival.

Eating out in Killybegs the visitor is spoiled for choice especially with the great variety of seafood on offer. The Hollycrest's own cooking speciality are the pancakes which Ann serves up with breakfast and which attract much favourable comment from her guests. It comes as no surprise that Hollycrest Lodge was included in Ireland's top 300 B&Bs.
