Wayside is located in a peaceful lake & mountain district called the Gap of Dunloe. Walk, cycle or ride on ponyback or travel in horse drawn carriage through this great glacial valley. The B&B is an ideal base for touring Dingle, Ring of Kerry, Beara and Killarney (6km)

Fishing on the River Laune, (Salmon permit €25 per day, trout fishing €8 per day)available locally. Also nearby is Beaufort Golf Course(18 hole) and Dunloe golf course (9 hole)

Traditional Irish music sessions at Kate Kearney’s Cottage (1km) with bar food served served daily. Hotel Dunloe Castle is nearby. The surrounding area has fabulous gardens with trees & shrubs from around the world. The Dunloe Ogham Stones are nearby (Ogham being the earliest form of Irish writing). Ideal base for climbing Carrantouhill, Ireland’s highest mountain, along with the MacGillicuddy reeks and the Purple, Tomies, Sheehy Mountain Ridge which afford spectacular views over upper, middle and lower lakes.

West of Killarney on the N72. Take Ring of Kerry Rd for about 4km. Turn left for Gap of Dunloe. House on left hand side of the road near entrance to the Gap of Dunloe and Kate Kearney's cottage.
